DMO 201: From Funding to Function and Then to the Next Level

February 23 | 3:30 - 4:15

Across Wyoming, many communities are reaching a pivotal moment. Wyoming Best is complete. Strategic plans are approved. Budgets are in place. In some cases, destination development dollars are finally on the table. And yet, one big question remains: now what?

This session is about the messy middle the leap from having a plan to executing it well. Facilitated by two DMO veterans who have spent years in the trenches, this conversation goes beyond theory and into the realities of building a high-functioning destination organization.

Topics can include operational logistics, governance and board alignment, staffing versus outsourcing, sequencing priorities, managing partner expectations, and putting destination development dollars to work without creating unintended consequences.

Just as important, this session takes an honest look at the common pitfalls: scope creep, capacity gaps, governance breakdowns, unrealistic timelines, and future proofing your successes.
